ATM in Nigeria

It's about time. Its long overdue. Although this is something we have been expecting in Nigeria for a long time, it tends to be the easiest way for the fraudsters to get people's money easily from the bank using some high tech card readers, and then remake your cards to swipe out your whole account. Automatic Teller Machine otherwise known as ATM, is a machine that dispenses cash to account holders. The transaction is initiated and concluded with the use of a magnetic stripe card or smart card.

The ATM card has either a magnetic stripe or a processor (or chip) that allows data or information to be stored or processed in it. ATMs are a quick and convenient way to access money in your accounts and also the easiest way to lose your cash if care is not taken.

The benefits of the ATM
24-hour access to accounts.
Transfer of funds
Balance inquiries
Printing of mini statements and account statements.
Cash withdrawals, e.t.c.

This is an advantage to tourist and travelers faced with the problem of exchange or money transfer. I remember the horror I faced in reference to using my credit card at well known high class hotels. I would not mention the names of the hotels for privacy policy reasons. The ATM will surely eliminate the problem of traveling with so much travelers check amongst all other factors and risk. I am not saying the ATM card is safe but at least better.
